2 Brothers

These are 2 of my 6 brothers. Both Steve (on the left) and Joe (on the right, of course) are 2 of my 4 younger brothers. I have 6 brothers and one lovely sister, as well as my Mom and Dad. With a big family like this, birthdays can get pretty spendy. We all find that now that we are older, birthdays aren't such a big deal. A card or a phone-call is usually all we expect, and frankly, sometimes that is more than we get (at least from the siblings).

I like to make things for my family, but most times I kind of forget until it is too late. July has 5 of the 10 birthdays, so getting things done can be a problem. All that activity at once!

This year I figured I would attempt to make some birthday gifts. Vim, another younger brother, received a knitted scarf (details on my knitting blog at zenknit.wordpress.com/blog. Steve and Joe received these 2 bone pendant necklaces. Just simple spiral rope chain done in masculine colors.

Steve's bone pendant is an Ankh, the egyptian symbol for life. The beads in the necklace are 11s in black, copper lined clear and a silver opalescent white. The closure is one of those button types - easy to get on and off and not too fussy for a guy.

Joe's bone pendant is an alien face. The beads in the necklace are 11s in black, blue/grey and white. The closure is that button type, same as Steve's.

Aren't they both handsome? Sorry gals but Joe is newly married to a beautiful woman called Pam. He met her when he traveled from home here in Minnesota to visit Steve in Florida. Joe and Pam fell in love and he never really came back to MN except to pick up all his stuff. *grin*

But ladies, Steve is single! He into music and fishing, kind and funny. Steve has a beautiful daughter, Marissa who lives in Florida too. I wish Steve would find a lovely lady like Joe has...perhaps someday soon.

Please let me know your thoughts by sending me an e-mail.
