The pattern for this bag comes from Bead & Button #9 by Jennifer Clement, "Medicine Bags: Snowflake designs in cylinder beads". These Snowflake or Mandala designs are really pretty. If you look closely, you can see that flower-like element is an angel - isn't that cool? I choose colors that were very similar to the picture in the magazine article, but I used 11s instead of Delica (cylinder beads). The strap is done in a continuous 27" of spiral rope chain, done in a combination of matte and opalescent white 11s that were in the body of the bag. On each 8th outer spiral row I used a pink bead to give a touch of color. There are 2 rows of fringe, the back fringe looks messy but that is just because of the scan - it is a loosely twisted type of fringe and really hangs quite nicely.
I hope you like this beadwork, please let me know your thoughts by sending me an email.
