This spiral just "happened" because I wanted to use some bright blue silver lined size 8/o beads - just because. I also used a 11/o Japanese rainbow ab bead for the actual dutch spiral portion. The solid blue part is (of course) the spiral rope chain.
I started out this necklace with the 3x1 dutch spiral that was in the Spring 1998 issue of Interweave's Beadwork magazine. After I had a small section done I decided it was too boring - even with using the shiny beads. I then started a one bead increase from the 3 seed beads through to 6 total per section repeat, with a return to the 3 bead type to give it some crunches. (I hope this makes sense). Anyway, if you really want to know, just ask and I will be more clear in my directions. The closure is a folded over section of the spiral rope twist that produces a lumpy bead-like knot. The other side is just a simple loop of beads.
The scan is a bit blurry, which tends to happen as a result of the reflection/distortion from the ab beads - but you can get the general idea. It is pretty true to size.
I hope you like this beadwork, please let me know your thoughts by Signing My Guestbook or by sending me an e-mail.
