5 Evenings of Elegance

evening elegance bracelet

At the Upper Midwest Bead Society Bead Retreat (Spring '01), "everybody" seemed to be making bracelets from the book, The Beaded Bracelet: Seven designs with full color instructions, by Yvonne Rivero. I finally broke down and purchased the book at the Bead & Button Show (2001) and have just now in August, gotten around to trying one out. Okay, so I did more than try - I made one design 5 times! I just love this bracelet design; it is called Evening Elegance.

To make a 7 1/2 inch bracelet it takes some some nice firepolish crystals in 6, 4 and 3mmm size, Nymo size B, about 1/2 tube of Delica beads and a nice clasp. Once you make one you will not want to stop. I finally stopped at 5 because, frankly, I ran out of the larger beads.

I have them in the scan in the order I made them, from left to right. You can see that my tension was tight at first, and it loosened up as I made them. The final bracelet is a lot straighter. They are all very wearable - once you get them on the wrist you can't see or feel the slight bend.

Yvonne has a bead store called U Bead It in Sacramento, CA where I am sure you can order the book - or check your favorite local or online beadstore.
