This is a bracelet I have just made for my Dad, Louis Aguirre, for his birthday (2/6/26). My Dad is the best guy in the world (okay, so he ties with my husband). He is kind and strong and has always been there for me and the rest of my family. He is sweet and funny and helps so many people - just because he can.
I wanted to make him something that would be nice looking, but strong because he is always working on something. A square-stitch bracelet is very tough because each bead is gone through with thread 5 times. I saw a pattern for a loomed bracelet in Bead & Button #16, Bead Weaving Basics: Fun for the whole family, by Louise Malcolm. The original chart for this was done by Warren Smith. I don't do loom work (yet) so I thought I would try it out in square-stitch and I think it turned out just fine. I wanted to be sure you saw how I attached the clasp...working the split rings into the design and using a large sterling lobster-claw. I am pretty sure this will hold up; I guess we shall see!
I hope you like this beadwork, please let me know your thoughts by Signing My Guestbook or by sending me an e-mail.
In Love, Light & Healing...
