Rev. Susan H. Aguirre's Beadwork - Dutch Spiral Necklace

I finally ended up creating this spiral using the instructions for the "Long Bugle Bead Necklace, Stepped".

Somewhere along the way I realized that I hadn't even started my project for the secret pal swap that was to be due January 31, 1998. I decided that my start on this necklace would be great for my secret pal, as she had shared with me her favorite colors and they fit the colors of the spiral. I decided the dutch spiral would look better as roughly half of the finished necklace - using a spiral rope chain for the remainder of the necklace. I used some vintage ab beads for the connector points between the two parts.

I think the finished necklace is nice. I sure hope my secret pal likes it! It is kind of flashy, but it grows on you after a while.

I used 11/o beads in a blue iris mix, and amethyst color-lined topaz 11/o beads that are the core of the plain spiral and an accent on the dutch spiral. The bugles are also blue iris, and the pink beads are triangle matte beads. I like the iris finish on the bugles and the seed beads in the spiral portion - these beads were used for one of my net bags too. I don't know if this is true of other beaders, but once I find a bead I like, I tend to use it a lot.

I hope you like this beadwork, please let me know your thoughts by Signing My Guestbook or by sending me an e-mail.
