One of my Reiki (healing) students, Mary Scullen, has also become my friend. She is a wonderful person - full of enthusiasm, curiosity and a great desire to accomplish her goals. I thought it would be nice to gift her with a knitted amulet bag, especially since I had already created amulet pouches for each of her 3 daughters.
Mary and I went shopping to pick out the thread and beads some time ago. Life got busy and I didn't take the time to knit the bag until just recently. Perhaps enough time has passed so that when I gift the bag to Mary, it will be a surprise!
Scanning shiny metalic or iris beads always causes problems...the bag is really much prettier in person. The thread is Caron Wildflowers in blue and earth colored tones, and the beads are a Czech purple iris mix. I used twisted bugle beads in the strap, along with purple and gold toned beads and peridot chips.
