This amulet bag is almost exactly like the other two vertical net bags on this web site. Like the blue/green bag, this is a simple one, but the beads here are more regular. Like the fairy/frog bag I used bugle beads as the start of the netting pattern. The beads are japanese seed beads in an iris mix. The beads have a great way of picking up and enhancing whatever color one is wearing. These beads are hard to scan...they seem to distort the light making the scan look a bit muddy. I wish you could see this bag in person, it is simple yet elegant!
Netted bags are incredibly simple and fast to finish! Now that you have seen 3 different versions on this page, you can see this type of stitch can cover a whole range of type...casual/funky, fancy or plain and elegant. The strap is a daisy chain. I used a simple fringe treatment (again) because my mother isn't a fancy sort of person. This bag was done about the same time as my other two net bags, as well as my brother's amulet bag...in June/July, 1997. I was a busy beader then!
I hope you like this beadwork, please let me know your thoughts by Signing My Guestbook or by sending me an e-mail.
