Beadwork by Rev. Susan H. Aguirre - Net Necklace and Earrings

When I picked up beading I became aware of Bead & Button Magazine. I promptly subscribed and in the first issue I received, No. 11: October 1995, there was an article by Louise Malcolm entitled "Family Heirloom: A lacy seed bead necklace". By this time I had already amassed a stash of seed beads so I decided to try it. I have since made several different net necklaces, the one below is not the original. I have found that they look marvelous in AB or what I call "gasoline" beads - those with that greasy type finish that give a metallic looking shimmer.

The fancy earrings are your normal commanche/brick stitch type. The more casual set I made for the earring swap for the beadlist listserv group. These are made with 14° beads from a pattern in "Beady Eyed Women's Guide to Exquisite Beadwork: A Netting Primer", by Vicki Star.

I hope you like this beadwork, please let me know your thoughts by sending me an e-mail.

In Love, Light & Healing...
Rev. Susan H. Aguirre
