These bracelets were done after I saw the article for Ecuadorian Lace Weaves in the August 2002 issue of Bead & Button magazine. There were directions for a collar/bib type necklace, which I don't wear, but bracelet directions were included so that is what I did! I did more than just these few, but gifted some to my friends before I had scanned them all.
The green, blue and pink versions are done using triangle beads, and the cream colored one is done using regular japanese seed beads. I really like using the triangle beads, but the color selection is somewhat limited.
This is a type of netting technique where you don't go through any beads, you pass the thread around another portion of thread - kind of like how you do African Helix found in Carol Wilcox Well's Creative Bead Weaving: A Contemporary Guide to Classic Off-Loom Stitches, but here you aren't producing a spiral and not so much strength is needed to keep it tight.
