I wanted to be sure to have some special jewelry for my upcoming wedding. I knew that I wanted to use cream colored beads and freshwater pearls. All I needed to do is to decide what style of necklace and then find the time to make it. I looked through all of my bead magazines, books and all over the net for just the right necklace. I finally decided that the green and blue drops necklace that I had made for another dress would look perfect done in cream and pearls. Like the other on this page, this necklace is not quite a choker style - it sits along the collar bone and I find it to be very comfortable. Maria's instructions are found here.
I used the same 2 cream colored beads in the matching bracelet, done in the spiral rope chain. At each end before the closure I strung on a freshwater pearl. I think that makes it look more fancy.
I wanted something more, so I also made an anklet using the silver lined beads as centers for a daisy chain done with cream colored charlottes. If you look closely, you will see that I used one blue bead for the center of the daisy near the lobster clasp. You know, something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue!
Now I am busy making jewelry for other friends and family members. I have completed another drops necklace done in green and peach for my best girlfriend. I am also working on a necklace for my sister; it is a net necklace in burgundy beads. Another friend will be wearing a necklace that I am working on for her as well - this one is freshwater pearls, rose quartz and gold filled beads with a rose quartz heart dangle. If I have time, I will post those as well.
This scan is larger than life - I decided not to size it down because you can see the detail better this way.
I hope you like this beadwork, please let me know your thoughts by Signing My Guestbook or by sending me an e-mail.
