Beaded Knitted Bag - White Bag for Chaachi

beaded knitted bag

My sister Chaachi gets to "order" bead creations from me...pretty much any time and I usually do them right away. That, however, didn't happen the time she wanted a white amulet bag. Somehow I just couldn't picture her wearing a white bag. Well, we shopped for the beads at Beadstorm / Stormcloud Trading some time ago...okay, a looooooong time ago. Sandi is the owner there...she is my friend and she likes to joke around, which I usually appreciate. Seems like she had it out for me, because every time I would come into the store she would ask about that dang white bag. As time dragged on it became quite a joke. Still, I couldn't bring myself to make that white bag. I finally relented and made the bag during one of the Upper Midwest Bead Society bead retreats. Then it just sat around, waiting for a neckpiece. I finally finished it and then I forgot to take a scan!

I finally scanned the bag today. The bag turned out really nice - very girly looking. I wish white beads would scan a little better. I used about 4 or 5 different types of white and crystal clear beads. The thread is YLI Success Surging Yarn in Winter White. It was slightly stretchy and fuzzy. I liked it and would use it again. I made it with a squared off flap that I finished off with a portion of spiral rope. That didn't seem to be heavy enough to keep the bag shut, so by adding the flower dangle it is heavy enough now to stay closed. I used fringe beads in the wider part of neckpiece. I also made a matching bracelet but didn't scan it - just picture a bracelet made like the wider part of the neckpiece with a silver clasp.

I hope you like this beadwork! Please let me know your thoughts by Signing My Guestbook. Or by sending me an e-mail.
